Description
Polafund – The Polish American Children’s Relief Fund for Ukraine – Foundation Autika – aids Ukrainian refugee children and their mothers who were forced to flee Ukraine due to the war of Russian aggression. Our organization is working under the umbrella of Autika – a non profit organization providing support to children with disabilities for over 10 years.
Autika Foundation as a non profit organization has been working for over 10 years and serves adults and children from all over Poland. We are looking for people in need of help, willing to cooperate actively as well as with other entities whose goals are in line with our activities. We train and prepare volunteers and specialists to work with the disabled. We are active in projects in the field of rehabilitation, support for children and organization of training for parents, therapists and teachers. Although we specialize in helping children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, related disorders, and their families, in the face of such a huge humanitarian tragedy in Ukraine, together with the specialists constantly collaborating with the foundation, we decided to take humanitarian action to help the refugee children and mothers from Ukraine

Hello my name is Dr. Matthew Adams. I am a history professor of Eastern European History at Savannah State University. Recently, as you know, Russia invaded Ukraine. This invasion has affected me personally as I have family and friends who are caught in the madness that Russia has unleashed on the people of Ukraine. Watching the events unfold has touched me deeply. I have cried more in 3 days than I have in 30 years. And now, I can no longer sit around playing Clash of Clans, play pick-up games of frisbee golf, and binge-watch Vikings. I have to do something, I have to do something for my Ukrainian friends that have always been there for me and many are there for us now. I am well-suited to help as I spent 5 years at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland getting my PhD. I have written a book outlining relief operations in Ukraine during WWI and have friends that will help throughout Ukraine and the rest of Europe. Recently, with my Polish associates -Autika Foundation , we created the Polish American Children’s Relief Fund for Ukraine.
