Moneybox description

The Committee for Ukrainian Museums invites you to participate in a fundraiser, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the purchase of computer equipment that will support Ukrainian museums in the digitization of their collections. Among the museums that have declared the need for this type of support are for example: the Natural History Museum in Lviv, the Taras Shevchenko National Museum in Kiev, the National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Hetman's Capital" in Baturyna, the J. Kobryński, the National Historical Museum in Dnipropetrovsk or the Museum of Local History in Winnica.

The fundraiser on behalf of the Committee for Ukrainian Museums run by the Paweł Włodkowic Institute. All funds will be allocated to the purchase of equipment necessary for the digitization of Ukrainian cultural goods.

Russia's aggression against Ukraine causes countless crimes, suffering and victims. In such circumstances, the most important are people - civilians exposed to barbaric bombing, soldiers fighting the aggressor. Ukrainians are dying defending their homeland.

Each war, however, also means irreparable losses in national heritage and culture. Today, Ukrainian museums face extreme challenges - how to protect and save collections, and how to preserve the legacy of many generations they care for.

Therefore, in order to prevent a catastrophe and to support our colleagues from Ukraine, as a community of numerous Polish museums, we established the Committee for Ukrainian Museums. Its primary goals are:

- supporting all museums and cultural institutions in Ukraine in the evacuation and protection of collections, the most valuable souvenirs and monuments of Ukrainian culture;

- supporting in documentation, digitization and inventory of collections;

- providing materials needed to protect and hide the collections;

- sharing experiences;

- collecting documentation proving the looting and destruction of Ukrainian cultural goods.

Constant contact with Ukrainian museologists shows us the enormous scale of the needs of Ukrainian museums. More than a dozen museums have already been supported by materials provided by our committee. Our biggest challenge right now is to raise enough funds to support all the museums that have turned to us for help. That is why we have started a fundraiser, which will be entirely allocated to helping Ukrainian museums. The obtained funds will give us the opportunity to purchase the necessary materials and organize the transport of materials to Ukraine.

The fight to preserve the cultural and national heritage of Ukraine is our common fight!
