Description
The Shehyni Humanitarian Aid Centre was founded by a group of volunteers who joined their forces with a common goal: to provide heat to Ukrainians escaping from war, waiting in long lines at the border crossing.
A one-off idea turned into an impactful, long-term initiative not limited to the local help in Shehyni. They adopted an inactive foundation to formalize our operations as a legal entity. Now they are acting as Fundacja My z Wami.
Since its inception, the Shehyni Humanitarian Aid Center has collected and sent parcels (named 'Box of Goods') with more than 100,000 kg of food and relief items.
It is feared that the winter will be hard because the cities are overcrowded due to the internally displaced people. In addition, there is a lot of destruction, and it is unlikely that people will manage to rebuild everything before winter. There will also be a problem with heating, so HAC wants to supply people somehow. Winters can sometimes be very cold.
HAC wants to prepare and send a minimum of 500 packages a week. It is possible that they will also make children's packages.
The cost of one package is about 70 zloty. CPH wants to start sending them out at the end of September.
Hence the Volvo employees decided to set a goal of 7000 złoty (100 packages). The collection will take place to celebrate the internal global event called Competence Week 2022 and will last till 30th of September.
Composition of winter packages:
- insulated gloves
- hat
- socks
- hand warmers
- NRC blanket
- lighter
- candles
- muesli bars
- etc.
